Ernst Yelin (1900 Stuttgart - 1991 ibid.) Pair of children Bronze, dark brown patina. Ligature monogram "EY", stamp of the Strassacker art foundry, Süßen. Group of nude figures. A kneeling boy and a crouching girl with a ponytail on an irregular, oval plinth, their heads nestled together in close intimacy. Probably sculpted in the 1950s by the sculptor, who came from a family of artists in Stuttgart - his father was the church painter Rudolf Yelin the Elder (1864 - 1940), his younger brother the glass painter Rudolf Yelin the Younger (1902 - 1991). Ernst Yelin himself attended the Stuttgart School of Arts and Crafts and from 1922 to 1927 the Stuttgart Academy of Art under Ludwig Habich. As early as 1926, he created sculptures for the restoration of the Gothic St. Nicholas Chapel in Calw; after graduating from the academy, Yelin, like many other sculptors of the time, created memorials and reliefs for the fallen as a result of the two world wars, as well as numerous fountains and sculptures for public spaces. In addition to such larger works, Yelin also worked on female figures, nudes and small erotic sculptures. H. 54 cm. Dark brown patinated bronze. Monogrammed, foundry stamp by Strassacker, Süßen.

A courtly splendid table designed by the architect Constantin Uhdes for the ducal residence palace in Brunswick Wood, fully carved and gilded. Fluted frame with volute motifs and acanthus leaf, curved to fit all around. The extended corners with fully sculpted eagle heads with outstretched wings on flamed spherical elements and sturdy, multi-jointed baluster legs. Slightly protruding top plate of cream-colored limestone, profiled on all sides. Brand stamp "H.R.Schl.". H. 77 cm. 161 cm x 85 cm. Provenance: formerly from the inventory of the ducal residence palace, Brunswick. Northern audience chamber, privately owned from 1914. After the great palace fire of 1865, the palace rooms were extensively refurnished in the course of reconstruction until 1868, with the Braunschweig architect Constantin Uhde (1836-1905) playing a major role in the design. Uhde designed emphatically physical, eclectic furniture with strong references to late classicism. On the occasion of the golden jubilee of Duke Wilhelm's throne in 1881, some of the highest-ranking furniture was once again made according to Uhde's designs - in addition to Uhde's confirmed design work on the throne chair, this can also be assumed for the present splendid table. Fully sculpted, expressively characterizing depiction of a couple strolling together, probably created around 1920; the gentleman with clogs, top hat and umbrella, the woman in a floor-length skirt, long lined cloak and hood. Becquerel studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris under Hector Lemaire and Prosper Lecourtier. He exhibited his bronzes and chryselephantine figures, mostly executed by Edmond Etling and Max Le Verrier and often combined with ivory, at the Salon from 1914 onwards. Overall h. 37 cm. ROMAN BRONZE STATUETTE OF APOLLO - Ca. AD 100 - 200 . A Roman bronze statuette of Apollo, likely based on a Hellenistic prototype. He has a long attenuated body and youthful almost effeminate curves. The god is depicted nude, standing on a thin rectangular integral plinth. His weight is on his right leg, his left bent at the knee with the heel lifted.
