1.1 million knots per square meter.
Dimensions: 155 x 105cm.
Technical features: Silk and metal velvet on silk foundation.
A magnificent deep navy blue field, bordered by an ogival mihrab, covered in Abjad script on a gold canetille, frames a ruby vase from which superb multicolored corollas emerge, surrounded by delicate flowering stems and lotus spandrels, surmounted by an oblong cartouche brocaded in Abjad calligraphy. The ruby-red vault, decorated with foliage, supports a brocaded script lintel. Multiple counter-borders with flower garlands and sawtooths enclose the old gold main panel with gold metal brocaded cartouches, where Abjad characters intermingle with sky and emerald plant scrolls, separated by brick and ivory cruciform flowers. Curious chequered embroidery on each head. A highly prestigious prayer rug.
