ARNOULD, Aimé - Dragonflies and lotus flowers" necklace Art Nouveau period, in yellow gold with diamonds representing two dragonflies facing each other (1C) resting on a lotus flower set with a faceted aquamarine of approx. 1.20 carats, the chain worked and embellished with floral motifs, two of which are centered with old-cut diamonds. His goldsmithing career spanned the period from 1900 to 1945, and he became a recognized player among his peers.

Martin van Meytens (1695 Stockholm - 1770 Vienna) Circumference Bust portrait of Emperor Charles VI. Representative, courtly portrait of the Habsburg (1695 - 1740), father of Empress Maria Theresa. In 1711 he was anointed Holy Roman Emperor as Charles VI, he was also Archduke of Austria, sovereign of the other Habsburg hereditary lands, including as Charles III King of Hungary and Croatia and as Charles II King of Bohemia. He wears a long allonge wig and a dark Spanish coat, his hat is decorated with silver-green ostrich feathers and a magnificent agraffe with precious stones. Beneath the jabot made of the finest French lace, the golden chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the highest decoration of the Habsburgs, is clearly visible. Martin van Meytens himself, as Imperial Chamber Painter, and his workshop in Vienna created numerous portraits of the emperor, which served not only to decorate and represent palaces and important buildings in his great empire, but also as gifts from the state. GANDHARAN SCHIST SEATED BODHISATTVA MAITREYA - Ca. AD 200. A seated Bodhisattva Maitreya crafted from schist stone. This seated figure is positioned atop a plinth framed by columns that flank a relief scene featuring votive figures. The Bodhisattva projects a tranquil expression with his gaze fixed in the distance, conveying a profound sense of inner peace. Adorned in an elegant sanghati robe, the Bodhisattva wears an intricate headdress, complemented by beaded necklaces, armbands, and bracelets. The figured is backed with a halo and seated in the Dhyana Mudra position, a hand gesture symbolizing meditation. His hands rest in the lap with palms facing upward, the right hand atop the left. The item is mounted on a custom-made stand.
