In original wooden box (ca. 12.5 x 55 x 40 cm) with hinged lid, gold embossed title, monogram embossing "PP" and 2 clasps (bumped, rubbed, stained, light-stained, small losses to cover, lid with defect). Contains i.a.: 11 mostly chromolithographed illustrated game boards for Jeu du Nain Jaune (2x), Roulette with roulette wheel, Jeu de Marelle (mill), Jeu d'Assaut (siege game), Jeu de l'Oie (goose game), Jeu de Steeple-Chase (horse racing game with 5 metal riders (1 rider's head missing)), chess/checkers (2 boards in various sizes, with complete chess piece). sizes, with complete set of chess pieces and 2 x 20 wooden playing pieces), wooden Solitaire board, Jeu d'Osselet with 5 "bones", Alquerque, 24 Lotto cards with 44 playing pieces, 28 dominoes, 31 and 24 playing cards, 50 chips, 8 jonchets, 1 small Ldr.Dice cup, 5 dice, 6 game instructions (Jeu du Baguenaudier, Jeu de Jonchets, etc.), mostly stored in cardboard boxes with glass lids (some with defects). - Dusty, partly soiled and foxed, game boards partly rubbed and bumped (2 of them stronger), otherwise overall well-preserved, rare game collection, not to be found in the trade. Laid in original marbled P. box with mounted border and label: "Neue mit der Maschine geschnittene Zerleg-Bilder. Kriegs-Scenen No." (rubbed and somewhat worn). Vienna 1977, no. 92-94 - Franz Kollarz (1825-1894) was a lithographer based in Vienna. - Interesting and unusual motif for such a children's game, depicting the scene of an important nocturnal attack in the Italian War of Independence, representing the capture of Venice by Austrian troops on the night of July 6-7, 1849. - Minimal chipping lower left. Overall in very good condition. Hand-colored chalk lithograph heightened with gum arabic by Trentsensky after Franz Kollarz, with decorative mounted border. Mounted on wood.
