Steel wristwatch, round case, blue lacquered 7021/0 snowflake dial, very nice homogeneous patina. Matching case and caseback references. Winding mechanism signed Rolex, screw-down caseback signed Rolex. Mechanical self-winding movement Tudor 2484. Original dial, hands, bidirectional bezel and movement. Steel bracelet Rolex oyster 7836/382. The watch is accompanied by the box, over-box and its original punched and stamped COMMANDO HUBERT papers dated September 1974. Diameter: 40 mm. Length: 20 cm. The Commando Hubert One of the seven most renowned marine commando units of the French Navy, was established in 1947 and transformed into a combat swimmer unit in 1953. Comparable to the American Seal-Team Six, the Italian Comsubin and the British Special Boat Service (MI5's action service), today it specializes in counter-terrorism, hostage rescue and offensive underwater intervention. The unit's badge, featuring an eagle, a dagger and a naval anchor, illustrates its versatility on land, in the air and at sea, its members being both combat swimmers and operational parachutists. In 1974, when the Submariner snowflake shown here was assigned to Commando Hubert, the unit was responsible for protecting the strategic oceanic force on Ile Longue near Brest. It was also temporarily deployed in the Suez Canal region during Operation Decan, which ran from November 15 to December 25, 1974, and again from March to May 1975, with the aim of clearing most of the sites on Lake Amer. Condition report: Case: very slight traces of wear, worn. Strap: original steel in good condition. Movement: not serviced, working. Dial: slightly cracked on the outside, original, good condition. Hands: original and relined. Bezel: beautiful, slightly gossamer patina.

He didn't subscribe to these movements, and looked for something else to broaden the field of creation. So he looked elsewhere for inspiration, to disciplines outside the art world such as mathematics, geometry and physics. His work developed around one theme: the Line, which became straight, curved and indeterminate, before transforming into Arcs and Angles. From the outset, his work was radical, even austere, compared to the abstract art of the 60s, which was generally lyrical and colorful. Using black and industrial materials, with minimal and deliberately inexpressive gestures, his aim was to achieve the absolute object, whose form would refer only to itself and not to the artist's "style". Jean SCHLUMBERGER - 18-carat yellow gold mechanical pencil, bone shaft with applied turquoise pearl decoration. Signed Schlumberger. Gross weight: 19 g - Length: 11 cm (Cracks and minor knocks). Jean Schlumberger was a French jeweler born in 1907, who began his career in the 1930s designing buttons for Elsa Schiaparelli, who later asked him to design costume jewelry. After the Second World War, he moved to New York and designed clothes for Chez Ninon. In 1946, he opened a jewelry boutique. In 1956, he began collaborating with Tiffany & Co. thanks to its president Walter Horving, who asked him to design for them. He had his own workshop there until the late 1970s. Remarkable for his whimsical interpretations and natural forms, Jean Schlumberger "appreciates the miracle of jewelry. For him, they are the means to realize his dreams". His most famous piece is called "Bord on the Rock", in which he incorporates the impressive 128.5-carat yellow diamond. He died in 1987.

Born in 1902, Kostia Terechkovitch showed an early interest in drawing, a gift encouraged by his parents, who entrusted his hands to the Moscow painter Constantin Youone and his eyes to the collector Sergei Shchukin. Terechkovitch later entered the School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the Russian equivalent of the French École des Beaux-Arts. That same year, 1917, the Russian Revolution broke out, disrupting civil society. Taking this as an opportunity, he decided to leave for Paris, then the capital of the arts, which he reached only in 1920 after a series of adventures and odd jobs.
