Charles Octave Levy (1840-1899) Apple picking Bronze with brown patina Signed "CH LEVY" on the terrace Bears a stamp "BRONZE GARANTI AU TITRE L.V Déposée" and the number "1085" Titled "Cueillette de pommes par CH Levy Salon des Beaux-Arts" in a cartouche on the base H: 51,5 cm Charles Octave Lévy, a pupil of Armand Toussaint, took part in the Salon from 1873 to 1898. He presented numerous statuettes, mainly in marble, some of which were published in bronze. The sculptor models rural subjects, including Le Faneur, for which he received an honourable mention at the Salon in 1887.
