Antoine Louis BARYE (1796-1875) Juno Model created around 1840. Bronze with brown patina. Signed BARYE on the front on the rock. Cast by Peyrol. Along with Minerva and Venus, the figure of Juno is part of a group forming one of the nine-light candelabra of classical inspiration made to decorate the fireplace of the Duke of Montpensier around 1840. Around 1865, Antoine-Louis Barye made Juno an independent work. The edition of the model is then continued by the founder Peyrol. Hippolythe Peyrol was first a pupil of Barye, then he became a publisher, especially for his sister-in-law Rosa Bonheur and her husband Isidore.
