Description
A clock with a ring dial revealing the movement and indicating the hours in Roman numerals and the minute graduations; it is inscribed in the wheel of an antique chariot in chased and gilded bronze on which is represented a figure of Love standing, winged and slightly draped, holding in one hand a flaming torch and in the other the reins; the chariot is harnessed to two spaniels. The whole is supported by a quadrangular base with rounded sides in white marble decorated with chased and gilded bronze motifs and presenting a drapery inscribed "L'Amour conduit par la Fidélité" (Love led by Fidelity); feet with knurled friezes.
