PROVENANCE collection Raoul Lacour (1845-1870)
Raoul Lacour, a young Parisian lawyer, a great traveller with a passion for natural history and entomology, left for a great expedition to Egypt in 1868. During his journey, he made many topographic surveys and various comments. He died prematurely during the siege of Paris in 1870. A year after his death the fruit of his research was published under the title : Egypt, from Alexandria to the second cataract. Today we present some of the items he collected in 1868.
