JAPON XVIIe siècle
Two small paintings in colour and gold highlights on paper, one depicting a lord and his entourage watching a rider firing a bow; the other depicting dignitaries seated at the edge of a space, near a palisade and a gate, possibly observing the same scene.
These two paintings probably belonged to the same emaki-e, an illuminated horizontal narrative scroll, where calligraphic narratives alternate with painted scenes.
