Seljuq gold coins (dinars) usually have one or two circular legends surrounding the main field. They are inscribed with a variant of the profession of faith (shahada), the names and titles of the Abbasid caliph and the great Seljuq sultan, the name of the workshop, the year and Qur'anic verses.
