1990 CITROËN 2 CV 6 50 km au compteur

Exceptional state of preservation One of the last 2 CVs manufactured A real time machine Never registered Chassis n° VF7AZKA00KA359640 I n 1935, Citroën, bankrupt, is bought by the Michelin family. Pierre-Jules Boulanger, an engineer by training, was called in to turn the company around. To this end, he is forced to lay off some of the workforce and abandon certain ongoing projects. From then on, he had his teams work on a car intended for a rural and hard-working population with few resources. The specifications were simple: the future car had to have four seats and to be able to carry 50 kg of luggage at 60 km/h, without exceeding a fiscal power of 2 HP, while being easy to maintain and economical. It must also be able to cross a ploughed field at full speed with a basket of eggs without breaking a single one... The 2CV is presented in its final version under the nave of the Grand Palais, at the occasion of the first post-war Motor Show, in 1948. Between the Type A unveiled on October 7, 1948 and the last Charleston which rolled off the production line at the Portuguese factory in Mangualde on July 27, 1990, 5,114,961 Citroën 2CVs were produced, all versions and series combined. The car we present is an exceptional Citroën 2 CV 6 special with only 50 km on the clock. It was delivered in 1991 to the owner of a Citroen garage in Belgium. It was then driven from the garage to his home and has not been used since. In 1997 his son bought the car and transported it on a trailer to his home. Since 1991 the car has been carefully preserved in heated garages. It is today in an exceptional condition, intended to be a collector’s item, it has never been registered or used. It is also very rare that the body parts that are supposed to receive the license plates are not pierced at all. The condition of the vehicle is of course absolutely incredible... Every detail is just as it should be: the tires have never been replaced, the fluids (engine and gearbox oil, brake fluid) are the same as the ones used at the factory, all the factory labels and markings are present, and the interior «smells like new». It is no exaggeration to say that this car is a real time machine. This superb Vallelunga Red has always been kept in good working order, so its mechanics are fully operational. Only the battery and the windshield wipers have been replaced, but the original elements have been kept and will be provided to the new owner. It is rare to find a car with very little mileage in such an exceptional state of preservation; we offer you here the opportunity to acquire an incredible example of the most iconic of cars.
