Description
TIBET - 20th CENTURY Tibetan prayer wheel (mani khorlo) in copper, silver and wood. The cylinder, covered with a stylized devanagari mantra in two registers, is closed by a lid with a pine cone-shaped grip. It contains a scroll of papers (where prayers are inscribed), which is wrapped in a blue cloth. Attached to it is a governor with a polyhedral weight at the end of the chain. The cylinder is encased in an iron rod installed at the end of an iron and patinated wood handle. H. 35 cm. 13 ¾ in. approx.
