"Jules Vallès". Albumen print mounted on cardboard, signed in black ink by Jules Vallès. Annotation on the back: Jules Vallès, member of the Commune. Visiting card size (pale stains, trace of dismantling on the back). Jules Vallès (1832-1885), is a French journalist, writer and politician of the extreme left. Founder of the newspaper "Le Cri du peuple", he was one of the elected members of the Paris Commune in 1871. Sentenced to death, he was exiled to London from 1871 to 1880.
