L'Immoraliste. P., Mercure de France, 1902, in-12, 259 p., modern binding in green morocco half-basin with corners, spine gilt, author and title gilt, cover (damaged) cons. (spine uniformly faded, half-title slightly browned). First edition. 1/300 copies on Arches laid paper, the only large paper. Enriched with a letter to Christian Beck, Belgian writer and poet (1879-1916): "But what have you become / my dear Beck / André Gide". André Gide's masterpiece novel, "L'Immoraliste", published in May 1902, constitutes a major moment in his career / IDEM. Dindiki. Liège, La Lampe d'Aladdin, 1927, in-16, 32 p., br., cover filled. 600 copies of the first edition, numbered 1/550 Montgolfier. Mascot of the writer, this Bosman's potto was adopted during his trip to Congo; it died in his hands before his return to France, and the pages he dedicates to it are very moving. Illustrated with four compositions by Desroches, woodcut in colour / Set. 2 vols.
