Description

Magda/Linssen/Tumak. Original plate n°3 of the short story "La vapeur des démons" which illustrates the declaration of love of the beautiful Faa-Rah to Tumak. Quality piece that illustrates the talent of the female artist in the treatment of musculatures and close-ups. India ink and graphite around 1980. Rare. TBE+. 43 X 32cm At the same time as she was completing her artistic humanities, Magda Seron was familiarizing herself with all forms of graphic expression (advertising, painting, fashion drawing, documentary drawing, etc.), she applied herself to an exercise: she transposed in her own way the classics of the comic strip. That's how she redraws some of Tif et Tondu's plates in realistic style! After having worked for a few years in advertising, she went into exile in Namur, in 1977, and joined the studio of Édouard Aidans for three years, where she was entrusted with the lettering and inking of some of the sets. It is in this same studio that she draws "Tumak" for the newspaper VERS L'AVENIR, on a scenario of her husband Bernard Linssen. Then, for TREMPLIN, she drew the adventures of two Quebec environmental scientists, "François Silence and Louise Saint-Louis" and then for TINTIN "Marie Meuse and Gilles Roux", a duo of scientists who have to deal with strange phenomena. 1990 marks a decisive turning point in Magda's career: she begins a collaboration with SPIROU and gives birth to "Charly", a series of fantastic stories written by Denis Lapière.
