"Dedecker Guy/Le Maugré. Original cover of the album ""Le domaine des maux"". India ink and graphite around 1997. Signed. TBE+. 55 X 43 cm. The signed album is included. Guy started in the 1970's with some posters for the associative sector. He realized two comic books (Contrebande and La Conspiration de Théti). In the 1980s, he was the illustrator of the Belgian children's magazine Info-Pio, in which he published the equivalent of three albums in monthly serials (Les aventures de Joëlle, humorous, Les Histoires vraies de Trebor, historical on scenarios by Robert Tangre, and L'Éléphant et son Cornac). In 1997, in the Belgian daily newspaper La Nouvelle Gazette-La Province, the first volume of the Maugré series was published: Le Domaine des Meaux, a realistic comic strip set in the rural context of peasant revenge in Hainaut at the end of the 18th century. The album itself is published by Points-Image a few months later. Since the end of the 1980s, Guy Dedecker has been an illustrator for the Ministry of Culture of the French Community of Belgium, where he produces documentary drawings, didactic illustrations for various correspondence courses and numerous covers and other press drawings."
