A 3 PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE

A 3 PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE China, c. 1920. Consisting of a lidded teapot, a lidded sugar box and a milk jug, decorated with neatly incised majestic dragons on a hammer blow ground. Each standing on four Art Deco style legs and marked on the underside with `90 SILVER´ as well as Chinese marks. Accompanied by an associated silver spoon showing an engraved dragon and three Chinese hallmarks. Condition: Very good condition with expected surface wear and minor scratches. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
