A FINE LACQUERED TORTOISESHELL CASE WITH MOUNT FUJI AND CRANES Japan, 19th century The lacquered tortoiseshell case, depicting a Japanese landscape scenery of three red-crowned cranes with Mount Fuji in the background, executed in various lacquer techniques. HEIGHT 11.3 cm Condition: Overall fine condition with minor wear and few small chips to lower rim of case cover. Provenance: Dutch private collection. This item contains ivory, rhinoceros horn, tortoise shell, and/or some types of tropical wood and is subject to CITES when exporting outside the EU. It is typically not possible to export such items outside of the EU, including to the UK. Therefore this item can only be shipped within the EU or picked up in our gallery in person.
