A LARGE LACQUERED JUBAKO (PICNIC BOX) WITH MAEDA MON-CREST, MEIJI/TAISHO PERIOD Japan, Meiji/Taisho period The two-tiered lidded picnic box is covered in shimmering roiro-nuri lacquer with a gold takamaki-e Maeda clan mon-crest in the center of the lid. The edges are lacquered in gold and the inside in red. HEIGHT 16 x 23 x 21 cm (H x L x W) Condition: Very good condition, with only a minor wear around the edges and a tiny nick near the mon-crest on the lid. Provenance: Italian private collection.
