A PAIR OF HORSESHOE WOOD CHAIRS
China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The backrests with curved top rails and wide, rectangular splats carved with a deer gnawing on a lingzhi spray. With iron fittings.
Condition: With old wear and traces of use, age cracks, minor nicks here and there as well as wormholes and losses to feet. The topcoat varnish removed leaving a matted appearance.
