A BLUE AND WHITE FUKAGAWA PORCELAIN TEA CADDY AND COVER Japan, Edo period (1615-1868) An octagonal tea caddy, the sides decorated in underglaze blue with diaper pattern cartouches containing ducks on the water surface below pine trees, the corners with spiral patterns and the cover with ‘prunus on cracked ice’ design. The lid knob with a six-character mark 'Hichozan Fukagawa sei' within a rectangle. HEIGHT 10 cm Condition: With expected wear and reglued lid knob. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland.
