Carmelo Cappello (1912-1996), ''I Figli del Mare'' (The Children of the Sea), bronze, brown patina, 1955, signed, highly abstracted group of figures representative of his oeuvre of the 1950s. Cappello, who is one of the most important Italian sculptors of modernism, studied in Milan from 1930 and with Marino Marini in Monza. In 1937 he exhibited for the first time, followed by numerous other exhibition participations, including the Venice Biennale. H. 23 cm
