Serial number 27091 Good condition Mechanics revised Rare in France Collector's grey card There are some car companies that shone during the interwar period but failed to keep up with the great economic boom after 1945. The history of Alvis follows this pattern and remains today a brand that few people know about and which still amazes with its striking similarities to other British cars. Founded in 1919, the Coventry-based firm made its mark in the 1920s with its sporty models with solid engines capable of competing with Bentley on the racetrack. In parallel to its civil activity, Alvis also made its mark by supplying parts and engines for the British army, which enabled it to survive the 1929 crisis. After the Second World War, competition became increasingly tough and brands such as Jaguar and Aston Martin overtook the old Alvis, which now only offered dated models with a low production rate. The TE21 series is part of the brand's attempt to offer modern models, but it is already too late and Alvis cannot find its place. Two years after Rover bought the company, the brand went bankrupt in 1967. First registered in 1964, the model we are presenting is a TE 21 in coupe version which is in a very good aesthetic condition with a nice biton paint and a perfectly patinated leather interior. Mechanically revised, its 3.0L 6 cylinder engine rumbles like an Aston Martin and gives a sporty side to the whole. Wedged between Bentley, Jaguar and Aston Martin, treat yourself to an unknown and unusual car and enjoy the charm of an English car while standing out from the crowd.
