N° HMK4331936 Very nice MG in British Racing Green With expertise file Technical review and driver's manual in French French collector's MG Since 1945 and the immediate post-war period, the T series MGs have marked a whole generation of young people and have been a huge commercial success. Although evolving over the years, the general style was beginning to look old-fashioned by the mid-1950s. The company with the octagon reacted and in 1955 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two MG barquettes, prototypes with special bodywork designated EX 182, were raced. A few months later, these cars arrived in dealerships: the MGA was born. The design of this car is absolutely magical, it is a race car on the road. The styling is much more modern than the T-series cars that became antiques overnight. The engine was also a new 1500 with overhead valves and two carburettors which owed nothing to the famous XPAG. In 1956, the range was completed by a sublime closed version, the roof line leaving no one indifferent. Sliding windows and deflectors are part of the doors. The coupé is comfortable and very bright with a large rear window. This example is one of the few MG A 1500 Coupes produced in left-hand drive. In a beautiful presentation, it shows some small stigmata from the past (note that the driver's seat upholstery needs to be redone) which suits it very well and gives it the patina of these cars that are on the road. This is indeed the case, this charming little coupe drives without a hitch, turning heads as it goes. It fits into today's traffic and would even seem to be made for the many historic rallies that our regions offer.
