Description

VANNES AROUND 1770 - JURISDICTION OF NANTES Pair of cast silver torches, the octagonal base and two light arms with the same decoration ARE NOT GUARANTEED OF THE TIME. The base is enhanced by a decoration alternating pearled braces and scrolled leafy bar. The shaft alternates a decoration of falling fleurons and fish scales applied to four masks of bearded men. Between the arms of light is a flower in plume. Master goldsmith : Jean-Pierre-Marie THIRET, received in 1765, for the bobèches attributed to Jean-Baptiste BRIZE, received earlier.
