Description

Weston HAYNES and Louis WEINTRAUB. Two photographs of D-Day, June 6, 1944. Silver prints of the period: A/ 14.1 x 18.9 cm on photographic paper 15.3 x 20.1 cm. Columns on a beach by Weston Haynes. Caption and credit on the back. B/ 16.7 x 21.6 cm on photographic paper 17.9 x 22.8 cm. Wounded rescued on a beach by L. Weintraub. Caption in French and English. Although the French caption on these two prints refers to the second anniversary of D-Day, the English labels on the back refer to the Shaef (Allied Services) authorizations for publication. This suggests that these images were produced during the war and used afterwards. Attached is a photograph of American ships on the Normandy coast, July 18, 1944. Vintage silver print, 16.7 x 21.1 cm on 18.1 x 22.9 cm photographic paper. On the back, a label with a caption.
