DELIBES Léo (1836-1891)

MUSICAL MANUSCRIPT autograph "L.D.", Les Trois Oiseaux. Duo for women's voices, 1877; 5 pages oblong in-fol. Duo for women's voices and piano. This duet for two sopranos and piano, on a poem by François COPPÉE : " J'ai dit au Ramier : pars "...., in F to 3/4, is marked Allegretto. It is, writes Gérard Condé, " a graceful fantasy on an arpeggio formula passing from one voice to the other and from the voices to the piano, with charming suspensions and superpositions of an exquisite sonority. The three stanzas, moreover, are different ". The manuscript, in brown ink on the front of 5 sheets of paper Lard- Esnault à l'italienne with 14 lines, with three systems of 4 staves per page (2 systems on the last page) presents some erasures and corrections. It is signed and dated at the end " L. D. février 77 ". This duet was published in the posthumous collection of the Sixteen Melodies (Heugel, 1891, n° 11).
