MANUSCRIT partly autograph, Three letters from Napoleon about Pope Pius VII, and 4 L.A.S. "A. Dumas" or "Al. Dumas"; 4 pages in-4 (more than 20 lines autograph), and 4 pages in-8 (2 portraits attached). Introduction and notes commenting on four "very unknown" letters from Napoleon (their number was corrected in the text, but not in the title), to the king of Naples Murat, and to the minister of Police Fouché, in 1809, concerning the abduction of the pope from the Quirinal, and his transport to Fontainebleau. About a letter expressing his annoyance to see the Pope arrested, instead of the cardinal Pacca, and giving an order to minimize the consequences, Dumas notes: "the minister of the Police hurried to dispatch the Pope of Grenoble to Savona measure which as one will see it displeased the Olimpian almost as much as the arrest of His Holiness"... Asks Adolphe to give him "my complete journey through Russia from the departure from Paris to the return through the Caucasus" (November 1866?)... - Request to Comte to send tickets to ladies, and to Mrs. Firmin... - Request for a lodge in Derval... Reproach of carelessness to Giacomelli, in a business that he sponsors...
