CARLOS ALBERT (Madrid, 1978)._x000D_

CARLOS ALBERT (Madrid, 1978)._x000D_ "Familia-004", 2014._x000D_ Wrought iron. Unique piece._x000D_ Attached certificate issued by the artist._x000D_ Measurements: 28 x 55 x 55 cm._x000D_ In this work made in wrought iron the author presents us with a light sculptural conception, apparently mouldable, open to space, which harmonises with the material, thus achieving an aerial result. Moving away from concepts or ideas, where perceptions are prisoners of the changeable, the artist flees from all anecdotal elements, leaving only the material and the surrounding space as actual._x000D_ The sculptor Carlos Albert trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid, and furthered his studies with a workshop in wrought iron sculpture taught by Martín Chirino at the Marcelo Botín Foundation in Santander, a course at the London Institute Camberwell University and another at the Department of Sculpture of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid held in Ayllón (Segovia), to finally obtain the Diploma of Advanced Studies from the same faculty in 2003. He made his debut in the late nineties, and since then Albert has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows both in Spain and in the UK and Luxembourg, in art galleries and museums. He has also participated in the Red de Arte Joven and in the Art Madrid and Fiart fairs. He has also received grants from the Complutense University of Madrid, the Ministry of Culture of Luxembourg, the Department of Sculpture of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid and the Elsa Peretti Foundation of Girona. Throughout his career he has taken part in artistic competitions and contests, being distinguished with numerous awards, including several National First Prizes: University of Seville (2002), Fernando Quiñones (2003) and City of Melilla (2008 and 2010). He has also carried out several official commissions. Carlos Albert works in steel and wrought iron, and also produces drawings and reliefs. In July 2012 the BAT gallery in Madrid presented the book "Carlos Albert, escultor", dedicated to his work, with texts by Fernando Fernán-Gómez, Mª Aurora Vigil-Escalera and Tomás Paredes, president of the Spanish Association of Art Critics. He is currently represented in the Caixanova Collection, the Universities of Seville and Complutense de Madrid, the FRIDE Foundation, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ayllón and the Town Councils of Palencia, Majadahonda, Melilla, Madrid, Parla, Santander, San Fernando, Móstoles, Cangas de Morrazo, Soria, Atarfe, San Fernando de Henares, Málaga, Cádiz, Lora del Río and Punta Umbría, as well as in various private collections.
