The codex was compiled shortly after 1400 in the Wenceslas workshops in Prague by Wenceslas' court astronomer Terzysko for the very personal use of King Wenceslas IV, the King of the Holy Roman Empire and King of Bohemia. The abundantly illuminated codex contains Latin translations of Arabic and Jewish texts. The miniatures feature bathmaids or a motif closely associated with King Wenceslas in the Wenceslas Bible. The miniatures are richly decorated with gold leaf and brush gold. The codex gives astronomical-astrological knowledge, with star interpretations and interpretations of the most famous astronomers and astrologers of antiquity and the Middle Ages. - The enclosed leather cloth is soiled. - 2 volumes.
