(Upper corners damaged, some wear and rubbing). The Metropolitan Fair was a public event organized by the United States Sanitary Commission in New York to raise funds and supplies for the Union Army during the American Civil War. The first fair was held in Chicago from Oct. 27 to Nov. 7, 1863. - Margins lightly browned, some photos slightly faded. St.a.T., bib. ch. on inner cover. - The Metropolitan Fair was a public event organized in the Metropolitan City of New York by the United States Sanitary Commission to raise funds and supplies for the Union Army during the American Civil War.
