VERY NICE REGENCE MARQUET CHEST attributed to MIGEON In marquetry of wood veneer decorated with large ormolu framing rods, with a double curved front opening by two doors, resting on a plinth Marble top 18th century, later bronzes 104 x 88 x 45 cm Restoration and maintenance The Migeons are a famous dynasty of cabinetmakers of which Pierre Migeon, received Master in 1725, is one of the most appreciated in the 18th century and still today for his high quality creations. In general, he is particularly fond of curves and likes to give a massive but elegant character to his furniture. He worked for a renowned clientele including the Duke of Orleans, the Cardinal of Rohan and the Duchess of Épernon. His works are notably exhibited in the museums of Beauvais, the Petit Palais in Paris, Fontainebleau and even Washington.
