VERY NICE SCULPTURE IN BRONZE "COUPLE OF YOUNG PEASANTS DIT LA DÉCLARATION" by Charles-Georges FERVILLE-SUAN (1847-1925) Group in patinated bronze on a pivoting molded base Signed on the terrace Old cast iron H : 58 cm Adopted son of the painter Charles Suan, Charles Georges Ferville-Suan studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the workshop of the sculptor François Jouffroy. He made medallions and statuettes in plaster, marble and bronze. He exhibited at the Salon from 1872 (until 1909) and was a member of the Society of French Artists. In September 1878, he married the landscape painter Marie Ernestine Lavieille, daughter of the painter Eugène Lavieille.
