DESSERTE LOUIS XVI by Antoine KRIEGER (1804-1869) In mahogany and mahogany veneer, rectangular shape with rounded sides, opening in front with two curtains topped by a drawer in the waist and on the sides with two niches topped by pivoting drawers in the waist. Rounded fluted mounts resting on four tapered legs Grey marble top Signed on the locks "M.on Krieger Ameublement Paris 19th century period 105 x 150 x 51 cm Restorations of use and maintenance Originally from the Bas-Rhin, Krieger came to Paris with his brother Nicolas around 1826. In 1850, the company became Antoine Krieger et Cie. He executed all plans and drawings and won a medal in London in 1852. At the World's Fair of 1855, he presented a dresser in sculpted panels with a medallion representing the hunting of deer.
