Italian Baroque table, XVII-XVIII century. Carved wood. Extraordinary marble top, original of the table and from the Baroque period. The marble has a restoration and some slight damage on the edges. Measurements: 77 x 130 x 97 cm Italian table from the Baroque period, with a marbled marble top with blunt angles and a high waist. It is raised on a support in carved wood that assumes the absolute protagonism of the piece of furniture, giving it a fully baroque personality: a central trophy joins the four legs finished off with volutes forming a turned chambrana, covered with gallons, as sinuous and sensual is the work of the whole of the moulded structure, based on inlets and projections, scrolls and fleshy edges, whose formal balance has been studied with precision, maintaining the compositional dynamism within an elegant order. The fretwork skirt follows the same pattern, introducing subtle variations based on spires and scrolls recombining into graceful and whimsical stems.
