(8) ff., 863 pp. Second edition of this precious treatise, very rare; it opens with the dedication to Michel de L'Hospital, taken from the original edition. This treatise contains XXII chapters divided into numerous articles each devoted to a food, its qualities, its uses: one book concerns bread, the others vegetables, meats, fruits, spices, milk, wine, fish... Exotic dishes are mentioned: snake, camel, lion... This work is a frequent reference in the History of the private life of the French, of Le Grand d'Aussy. Doctor of Lyon, the author was called to the service of François I and then of Henri II. He composed this book in 1530, and the first edition appeared in 1560 (Lyon, Sébatien Honorat). Handwritten annotations on the endpapers, two of which are signed Dr V. D. Corsuit. Binding slightly rubbed. Vicaire, 125 - Bitting, 65 - Oberlé, 66 (1560).
