Copper-engraved frontispiece showing an amateur in front of a pork butcher's stall, engraved title, (4) ff, cxxxv pp, (1) f., 2 copper-engraved vignettes in the text (title and beginning of poem). First edition of this famous burlesque poem in four songs, in praise of salami; the different types are described in abundance: cotechino, salami di fegato di Ferrara, zampone di Modena, salami all'aglio di Firenze, Lucca and Verona, cervellato di Milano, mortadella di Bologna, etc., and are exposed the best ways to cook them.
