In-8, red half-maroquin, smooth spine, long title (19th century binding). 24 pp. A rare treatise, not cited in reference bibliographies, in which the English poet George Gascoyne (c. 1539-1577) combats drunkenness and excessive gluttony, citing Alexander, Apicius, Lucullus... as examples. This reprint would have been made from the only copy of the original edition, published in London, Richard Jhones, 1576. Bound in the suite: SPENSER. Dispersed poems.
