I) 465 pp. ; one folding plate - II) 490 pp. - III) 576 pp. Rare first edition of this important treatise by its real discoveries, about cooking methods (he invented a well closed cooking stove described on the plate), and seasonings (light sauces, and few spices). The author, a Parisian physician, republished this treatise under the title Le Cuisinier royal - at a republican date: 1792! The three false titles are missing. Minor foxing. Upper jaw of volume III split, corners dulled. Vicaire, 507 - Livres en bouche, 227 - Bitting, 278 (1789) - Cagle 246 (1789 and 1790).
