It is illustrated with a frontispiece representing the Maison du gourmand, more than 170 figures in and out of the text, vignettes or full page, and 2 folding plates (including a table representing the most famous French gastronomes, from Brillat-Savarin to 1894, with the list of names). A richly bound copy. The name of the bookbinder is hidden and repeated in the gilt scrolls of the spine: G. Palmarts is from Liege.
