In-12, bradel red half-maroquin with corners, smooth spine mosaic of small flowers and leaves in brown tones, and golden branches, golden edges (Binding of the end of the 19th century). False title, frontispiece, title, xviii pp, 298 pp, (1) f. of table. First edition, illustrated with a frontispiece engraved by F. Rops, and 7 vignettes, etched on chine appliqué, one by G. Courbet and 6 by Flameng. Divided into 44 chapters, the work is a ballad through La Rotonde, Minerve, Lamblin, Desmares, Racine..., where one meets illustrious writers or artists. Some foxing.
