My arm is torn by a dog, my foot is damaged by a wasp. Long live the country! She explains "It does not depend on me to make our little friend leave the Conservatory or not! He is a scholarship holder of the government in order to obtain his first prize (...) Moreover the first prize exempts him from three years of military service and I believe that he will have less to lose by being bored for one more year at school than 3 years in the regiment! (...) especially since I was certain that he would make two brilliant debuts in London and Berlin this winter under exceptional conditions.
