Autograph letter to Gilles Menage, (s.l) [April 13, 1662]. 1 p.½ in-8. Address, small red wax seal. Letter written the year of the publication of La Princesse de Montpensier "with the diligence that you have given me of theigram it is necessary very little that I do not lentende. I will try tomorrow to unravel it with my Master it is true that the thought is the most extrodinary of the world but it is beautiful in verse I still had a little fever last night but much less than the two others it is so beautiful days in the country that in my absence you must be delighted to stay there your letters are very gallant beware that you speak ofadorator and victim these words are frightening to us others who come out fresh from the week of St. Adieu. Gilles Ménage (1613-1692) French grammarian, historian and writer. He was the tutor, among others, of Madame de Sévigné and Madame de Lafayette.
