Joan MIRÓ (1893-1983) The Blue Bird, 1974 Gouache and Indian ink on a sheet of a spiral notebook, pasted on a cardboard support, signed lower right and dated 23/IV/74 lower left. 30,5 x 22,5 cm Provenance: - Gift of the artist to Hubert Germain, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (1972-1974) and last Companion of the Liberation. - By descent to the current owners A certificate of the ADOM dated April 14, 2022 will be given to the buyer. Hubert Germain (1920-2021), Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (1972-1974), will entrust in 1974 to Joan Miró the creation of the first stamp of the "Artistic Series". The first stamp produced in rotogravure, the mythical bird of the Post Office interpreted by the Catalan artist will enter the world of philately on September 14, 1974. The museum of the Post Office preserves in its collections a model, stencil with the gouache, which was used for the edition in heliogravure.
