Neo-impressionist, he borrowed from impressionism the painting of the open air, the motif of nature and the work on the variation of light. It is thanks to his wife that he discovered the nature of Auvergne, one of his favorite places of work. Here painting on the ground, perhaps in Auvergne, he synthesizes and exceeds impressionism.
