STRASBOURG

Covered terrine in the shape of a pigeon, the plumage with a beige and brown background, resting on a base painted in imitation of grass. Bears the mark "4" on each part. Manufacture of Paul Hannong. Circa 1748-1754. (Small restorations to the beak and the end of the tail). Length : 33,5 cm Comparable models in the Ariana Museum in Geneva (inv AR 2001-222-1) ; and in Chompret, Répertoire de la faïence française, 1935, t. V, pl. 25.
