MEISSEN
Important group representing a couple of shepherds sitting on a flowered terrace, surrounded by garlands of flowers, two sheep lying at their feet, with polychrome decoration. The base is decorated with rocaille motifs in relief enhanced with gold. The motif is inspired by a composition by François Boucher, The Gallant Shepherd (engraving kept in the Louvre Museum, inv. 18806 LR/ Recto).
