Important black stone statue with traces of gold lacquer of Buddha seated in padmasana on a lotus-shaped base, his right hand in bhumisparsa mudra (gesture of taking the earth as a witness). He is adorned with rich jewelry, including a pearl necklace and a three-petal pectoral, his oblong headdress adorned with a stylized flower in the center, surrounded by branches of flowers, and held by a frieze of pearls. Tang period (618-907)/Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period (907-979). On the reverse, an inventory number 19571 (?). (Head reattached, a slight chip at the tip of a lotus petal on the front).
