Artisans of MAROLLES and LOIR ET CHER Group initiated and founded in 1950 by Jean TOURET (1916-2004) Suite of 8 chairs Oak 79 x 44 x 37.5 cm. 1963 Set of 8 dining chairs Oak 31.1 x 17.32 x 14.76 in. Provenance : - Private collection, Orsay, France. Note : In 1964, Jean Touret decided to devote himself entirely to sculpture; he left the artistic direction of the "Artisans de Marolles et du Loir et Cher" group. The craftsmen of the initial group took back their autonomy to found a new group called "Artisanat de Marolles" which was joined by a carpenter from Blois, Mr. Lézé.
